ABSTRACT

By consulting ancient and modern literature, the herbal textual research of Farfarae Flos has been conducted to verify the name, origin, producing area, quality evaluation, harvesting and processing methods, so as to provide reference for the development and utilization of the famous classical formulas containing Farfarae Flos. According to the research, the results showed that Farfarae Flos was first described as a medicinal material by the name of Kuandonghua in Shennong Bencaojing(《神农本草经》), and the name was used and justified by later generations. The main origin was the folwer buds of Tussilago farfara, in addition, the flower buds of Petasites japonicus were used as medicine in ancient times. The ancient harvesting time of Farfarae Flos was mostly in the twelfth month of the lunar calendar, and the modern harvesting time is in December or before the ground freeze when the flower buds have not been excavated. Hebei, Gansu, Shaanxi are the authentic producing areas with the good quality products. Since modern times, its quality is summarized as big, fat, purple-red color, no pedicel is better. Processing method from soaking with licorice water in the Northern and Southern dynasties to stir-frying with honey water followed by micro-fire in the Ming dynasty, and gradually evolved to the modern mainstream processing method of honey processing. Based on the research results, it is suggested that the dried flower buds of T. farfara, a Compositae plant, should be selected for the development of famous classical formulas containing Farfarae Flos, and the corresponding processed products should be selected according to the specific processing requirements of the formulas, and raw products are recommended for medicinal use without indicating processing requirements.

ABSTRACT

Through reviewing ancient and modern literature, the textual research of Anemarrhenae Rhizoma(AR) has been conducted to verify the name, origin, changes in production areas, quality evaluation, harvesting and processing methods, so as to provide reference for the development and utilization of the famous classical formulas containing AR. Through the herbal textual research, AR was first published in Shennong Bencaojing, and has been used as the proper name for this herb for generations, and the mainstream source of AR used for generations is the rhizome of Anemarrhena asphodeloides. The high-quality production areas that have been revered throughout the ages are Hebei, Shanxi, Shaanxi, Inner Mongolia and Fangshan district of Beijing, etc. In recent times, AR produced in Yixian county of Hebei province(Xiling Zhimu), is better known and is regarded as a very good source. At present, cultivated AR is mainly produced in Yixian county and Anguo of Hebei province, Bozhou of Anhui province and other places. The medicinal parts of AR in ancient and modern times are all rhizomes, and the quality is better if it has thick flesh, hard wood, yellow outer color and white section color. The harvesting time recorded in ancient medical books is usually in lunar February and August, with exposure to dryness, while modern harvesting is spring and autumn. The processing methods of the past dynasties were mainly to remove the hair when using, avoid iron when cutting, process with wine or salt water, while the two main specifications in modern times are raw and salted products. Based on the systematic research, it is recommended that the dried rhizome of A. asphodeloides in the famous classical formulas be used for AR. If the original formula specifies processing requirements, it should be operated according to the requirements, if the processing requirements are not indicated, the raw products can be used as medicine.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To analyze the clinical characteristics of infantile Takayasu Arteritis (TAK) complicated with cardiac involvements. Methods:The clinical data and cardiac lesions of infantile TAK were collected retrospectively, and the clinical characteristics of the disease were analyzed and summarized. Mainly using decriptive statistical methods. Results:In these 20 cases, 16 cases (80%) had cardiac involvements, only 2 cases had related symptoms. The common lesions were coronary artery lesion (CAL), valvular disease, and elevated myocardial enzymes, while the rare lesions were arrhythmia, pericardial effusion, hypertensive heart disease, and heart failure. One case had acute heart failure, which was systolic heart failure and was accompanied by hypertensive heart disease. All 14 patients with CAL were found by conventional coronary ultrasound screening. A total of 39 CAL were found, all of which were coronary artery dilation, and the left main coronary artery was involved. Five patients had heart valve disease, all of them were valve insufficiency. The involved valves were mitral and tricuspid valves, and one of them was severe insufficiency. Arrhythmias were found in 2 cases, of which P1 was found to have paroxysmal atrial tachycardia with high atrioventricular block at 3 months. All 20 children survived and were in stable condition after being treat with biological agents and/or glucocorticoids. A case of hypertensive heart disease complicated with heart failure was followed up for 4 years, and the cardiac function and blood pressure returned to normal. Fourteen children with CAL lesions were given oral aspirin disease, the CALs disappeared in 10 cases and retracted in 4 cases. During the follow-up of 5 children with heart valves, insufficiency disappeared in 4 cases and improved in 1. No child underwent valve replacement during the follow-up. One of the children with arrhythmia was treated with antiarrhythmic drugs. After treatment, the arrhythmia disappeared. Now they have been followed up for 5 years without recurrence. Conclusion:Infantile TAK has a high incidence of heart involvement, with extensive lesions but insidious clinical symptoms. CALs are common, and heart failure is rare. It should be evaluated and treated as early as possible.

ABSTRACT

【Objective】 To screen and verify a peptide ligand specific for CD44v9. 【Methods】 A 12-mer phage peptide library was screened on CD44v9 coated on solid phase. Candidate sequences emerged after sequencing. Candidate phages were selected using enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay. The best sequence was chosen for further study. Binding of C9-3 to CD44v overexpressed HEK-293 cells was determined using immunofluorescence. Binding affinity and specificity were verified on gastric cancer tissues with immunohistochemistry. 【Results】 Phages significantly were enriched during panning process. After sequencing, nine individual sequences occurred in 30 selected clones. Among the 9 candidate sequences, C9-3 exhibited the highest frequency. Results of ELISA showed that C9-3 had the highest OD value and selectivity. Thus, C9-3 was chosen for peptide probe synthesis. C9-3 probe stained CD44v overexpressed HEK-293 cells, but not empty vector transfected HEK-293 cells. Immunohistochemistry scores of C9-3 were significantly different between gastric cancer and paracancer tissues (t=3.953, P<0.01). A linear positive correlation was observed between C9-3 binding and CD44v9 expression (r=0.823, P<0.01). 【Conclusion】 In this study, peptide ligand of CD44v9 was successfully screened. The peptide can bind to cells and cancer tissues via CD44v9. It has potential for gastric targeting probes.

ABSTRACT

GJ-4 is crocin enrichments extracted from Gardenia jasminoides J. Ellis, and our previous studies have shown that GJ-4 significantly improved learning and memory impairment induced by Aβ in mice. Herein, a memory deficit model was developed by injecting okadaic acid (OA) into the lateral ventricle of mice, and the neuroprotection and underlying mechanism of GJ-4 on neuronal injury caused by Tau hyperphosphorylation were investigated. The Animal Care & Welfare Committee, Institute of Materia Medica, CAMS & PUMC has approved all procedures (No.00000318). GJ-4 at different doses was intragastric administration to mice for 16 days. Step-down test and Morris water maze test showed that GJ-4 could significantly improve OA-induced memory impairment in mice, and reduced the loss of Nissl bodies in the hippocampus of mice. GJ-4 could also decrease the phosphorylation level of Tau protein at Ser396, Thr231 and Ser404 via increasing protein phosphatase 2A (PP2A) activity and inhibiting glycogen synthase kinase-3β (GSK-3β) activity. Besides, further researches indicated that GJ-4 could inhibit the level of oxidative stress in the brain of OA mice, reduce neuronal apoptosis and inhibit the neuroinflammation mediated by activation of astrocytes in the hippocampus of mice, and eventually achieve its effects in improving learning and memory impairment in mice. According to these findings, we anticipated that GJ-4 might be a potential therapeutic drug for Alzheimer's disease.

ABSTRACT

Bacterial biofilm widely exists in all kinds of bacteria, and is related to about 80 percent of bacterial infections. It is one of the main reasons for bacterial tolerance and resistance to existing antibiotics. Therefore, there is unmet clinical need for new anti-biofilm drugs. At present, there are three kinds of anti-biofilm agents under research, including biofilm inhibitors, biofilm dispersal agents and biofilm eradication agents. Among them, the biofilm eradication agent is unique, which can not only kill bacteria in biofilm but also eliminate biofilm as a monotherapy. Based on modifications of natural products with antibacterial activity, a variety of compounds with biofilm eradicating activities have been obtained, such as, acyldepsipeptides, pyrrolomycins, halogenated phenazines and halogenated 8-hydroxyquinolines. In this review, we summarize several major biofilm eradication agents above according to their structures and mechanisms.

ABSTRACT

Objective:To investigate the clinical features, treatment and follow-up of children with early-onset antinuclear antibody (ANA)-positive juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA).Methods:Eighty-six oligoarticular JIA patients with early-onset arthritis (≤6 years old) admitted to the Children′s Hospital Affiliated to Capital Institute of Pediatrics from January 2017 to December 2019 were included in this study. According to ANA titer, these patients were divided into two groups: ANA-positive group (44 cases) and ANA-negative group (42 cases). Clinical data including demographic data, clinical features, laboratory testing results, treatment and follow-up data were statistically analyzed. Results:The ratio of male to female was 7∶37 in the ANA-positive group and 15∶27 in the ANA-negative group and there was significant difference between the two groups ( P=0.035). The proportions of patients with increased C-reactive protein and erythrocyte sedimentation rate were higher in the ANA-positive group than in the ANA-negative group [18.18% (8/44) vs 16.67% (7/42) and 29.55% (13/44) vs 19.05% (8/42), both P>0.05]. The most commonly involved joints in the ANA-positive group were knee (95.45%, 42/44), ankle (20.45%, 9/44) and wrist (18.18%, 8/44), and unilateral asymmetric joint involvement accounted for 81.8% (36/44). In the ANA-negative group, the involved joints were knee (85.71%, 36/42), ankle (14.29%, 6/42), wrist (14.29%, 6/42) and hip (11.90%, 5/42), and 27 out of the 42 cases (64.29%) had unilateral asymmetric joint involvement. There was no significant difference in the above indexes between the two groups (all P>0.05). There were seven cases (15.91%) with uveitis in the ANA-positive group and two cases (4.76%) in the ANA-negative group, and the difference between the two groups was significant ( P=0.045). Before treatment, the ANA-positive group had a significantly higher disease activity score (JADAS27) than the ANA-negative group (14.43±2.87 vs 12.09±3.32, P=0.002). After treatment, the JADAS27 score in both groups decreased (both P<0.05). After six months of treatment, the two groups had similar clinical remission rates [70.45% (31/44) vs 76.19% (32/42), P>0.05]. Conclusions:Early-onset ANA-positive JIA was more common in female children, and asymmetric knee joint involvement was the most common clinical manifestation. The incidence of ophthalmic complications was high, and ophthalmological examination should be performed more frequently during follow-up. The prognosis of early-onset ANA-positive JIA was good with early treatment. Positive ANA was not a risk factor for poor prognosis.

ABSTRACT

Through reviewing the ancient and modern literature, the name, origin, producing area, quality evaluation, harvesting and processing methods of Trichosanthis Fructus(TF) and Trichosanthis Radix(TR) in famous classical formulas were systematically sorted out following the chronological order. The results showed that there were many nicknames of TF and TR, and Gualou and Tianhuafen have become the mainstream names for its fruit and root, respectively. Both of them took Trichosanthes kirilowii as the mainstream base. TF and TR have been used as medicines in the Han dynasty, and since the North and South dynasties, Leigong Paozhilun had been clear that the effects of peels, seeds, stems, roots were different. TF was used as medicine with intact fruits, harvested after maturity from September to October, hung and dried in the shade, and its quality has been summarized in recent times as being best for those who are mature, large, thick and pliable peels, orange-yellow in color, and with sufficient sugary properties. In ancient times, the processing of TR was mostly crushed or shredded with the peels and seeds, or processing for pancakes and creams. TR was used as medicine with the roots, it is harvested from November to December, peeled and dried in the sun, and its quality was best when it was deep in the soil, large, white, powdery, firm and delicate with few muscles and veins, and it was considered to be toxic when it was born in briney land. Processing method of TR was to do powder into the medicine in the Tang dynasty, and gradually evolved into direct slicing use in the Ming and Qing dynasties. Since the modern era, the authentic producing areas of TF and TR were in the vicinity of Lingbao, Henan province, known as Anyang Huafen, and in modern times, there are well-known production areas such as Anguo, which produces Qihuafen, and Jinan, which produces Changqing Gualou. In the Song dynasty, there was a habit of substituting Trichosanthis Semen for the whole herb, which was later corrected by the materia medica in Ming dynasty. Based on the results, It is suggested that T. kirilowii be selected as the basal plant for the development of famous classical formulas involving TR and TF. In Qingjin Huatantang, Trichosanthis Semen is processed by stir-frying method, while TR and TF in other five formulas from the Catalogue of Ancient Famous Classical Formulas(The First Batch) were all used in raw form.

ABSTRACT

@#Objective    To evaluate the changes in the expression and significance of serum exosomal miRNAs in patients with DeBakey typeⅠacute aortic dissection (AAD). Methods    Twelve male patients with AAD and six healthy male medical examiners from our hospital were retrospectively included in this study. According to the time of chest pain, the AAD patients were divided into an AAD group within 24 h of chest pain onset, aged 47.00±8.79 years and an AAD group within 48 h of chest pain onset, aged 50.17±9.99 years. The healthy males were allocated to a control group, aged 49.17±4.26 years. Serum exosomal miRNAs were isolated, identified and quantified, and then differentially expressed exosomal miRNAs were screened. The bioinformatic analyses such as GO and KEGG were performed on the differentially expressed exosomal miRNAs. Results    High-throughput screening results revealed differential expression of AAD serum exosomal miRNAs. The upregulated miRNAs of AAD groups was hsa-miR-574-5p (P<0.05), and downregulated miRNAs were hsa-miR-223-3p, hsa-miR-146b-5p, hsa-miR-15b-5p, and hsa-miR-155-5p (P<0.05). Further bioinformatic analysis of the above miRNAs revealed that they were mainly enriched in signaling pathways such as transforming growth factor-β, cell cycle and endoplasmic reticulum protein synthesis. Conclusion    Differential expressions of serum exosomal miRNAs in AAD patients may be related to the pathogenesis of AAD, providing new ideas and clues for further exploration of AAD diagnostic markers and pathogenesis.

Methods: The clinical data of 118 children with HNL diagnosed and treated in the Department of Rheumatology and Immunology of Children's Hospital, Capital Institute of Pediatrics from January 2014 to December 2021 were retrospectively analyzed. The clinical symptoms, laboratory examination, imaging examination, pathological findings, treatment and follow-up were analyzed. Results: Among the 118 patients, 69 were males and 49 were females. The age of onset was 10.0 (8.0, 12.0) years, ranging from 1.5 to 16.0 years. All the children had fever lymph node enlargement, blood system involvement in 74 cases (62.7%), skin injury in 39 cases (33.1%). The main manifestations of laboratory examination were increased erythrocyte sedimentation rate in 90 cases (76.3%), decreased hemoglobin in 58 cases (49.2%), decreased white blood cells in 54 cases (45.8%) and positive antinuclear antibody in 35 cases (29.7%). Ninety-seven cases (82.2%) underwent B-mode ultrasound of lymph nodes, showing nodular lesions with low echo in the neck; 22 cases (18.6%) underwent cervical X-ray and (or) CT; 7 cases (5.9%) underwent cervical magnetic resonance imaging. Lymph node biopsy was performed in all 118 cases, and the pathological results did not support malignant diseases such as lymphoma or Epstein-Barr virus infection, suggesting HNL. Fifty-seven cases (48.3%) recovered without treatment, 61 cases (51.7%) received oral steroid therapy, and 4 cases (3.4%) received indomethacin as anal stopper. The 118 cases were followed up for 4 (2, 6) years, ranging from 1 to 7 years, 87 cases (73.7%) had one onset and did not develop into other rheumatological diseases, and 24 cases (20.3%) had different degrees of recurrence, 7 cases (5.9%) had multiple system injuries, and all of the tested autoantibodies were positive for medium and high titers. All of them developed into other rheumatic immune diseases, among which 5 cases developed into systemic lupus erythematosus and 2 cases developed into Sjogren's syndrome; 7 cases were given oral steroid therapy, including 6 cases plus immunosuppressant and 2 cases receiving methylprednisolone 20 mg/kg shock therapy. Conclusions: The first-onset HNL portion is self-healing, hormone-sensitive and has a good prognosis. For HNL with repeated disease and multiple system injury, antinuclear antibody titer should be monitored during follow-up, and attention should be paid to the possibility of developing into other rheumatological diseases, with poor prognosis.

ABSTRACT

By reviewing ancient materia medica, medical and prescription books, combined with modern literature, the textual research of Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix has been conducted to verify the name, origin, producing area, harvesting and processing methods. Through textual research, the results show that the mainstream name of this herb recorded in the past dynasties is Fangji, which is also called Hanzhong Fangji because it is produced in Hanzhong city, and after the Tang dynasty, it was gradually divided into Hanfangji and Mufangji, and there is the saying that Han Zhushuiqi, Mu Zhufengqi. The names of Fenfangji and Guangfangji were first seen in the republic of China. In addition, Fenfangji was once distributed in Hankou, so it was also known as "Hanfangji", which is easily confused with the traditional Hanzhong Fangji for short. Based on the original research, it is concluded that Aristolochia heterophylla(Hanzhong Fangji)is the mainstream of Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix used in the Qing dynasty and before, and the application history of Cocculus orbiculatus can be traced back to before the Tang dynasty. After the Ming dynasty, Stephania tetrandra gradually became another main origin, and in the Republic of China, A. fangchi was used as a medicine for Stephaniae Tetrandrae Radix, but in modern times it was banned because it contained aristolochic acid as a toxic ingredient, and S. tetrandra has become the mainstream legal origin. The traditional production area of Hanzhong Fangji is Hanzhong, Shaanxi province, while today the mainstream of S. tetrandra is manly produced in Jiangxi and other places. Based on the quality evaluation research, the quality of Hanzhong Fangji is better with the radial texture of section used as radial solution, yellow solid and fragrant. Fenfangji with solid quality, white inside, powdered enough, less fiber and radiating texture is better. From the harvesting and processing research, the root of Fangji is mostly harvested in spring and autumn, and the outer bark should be removed in some literature. Before the Ming dynasty, this herb was dried in the shade, and after the Ming dynasty, it was dried in the sun. The modern production processing of Fangji is to harvest it in autumn, wash it, remove the rough bark, dry it to half dry, cut it into sections, and then cut it longitudinally if it is large, and dry it. Based on the results, combined with current studies on the toxicity of aristolochic acid and influencing factors such as commercial circulation, it is suggested that S. tetrandra should be used as the origin of Fangji, the processed products are selected according to the prescription requirements, and those without specified requirements can be processed by referring to the raw products in the 2020 edition of Chinese Pharmacopoeia.

ABSTRACT

Background Climbing pylons during high-voltage cable maintenance is not only a labor-intensive task, but also a challenge bringing about heat stress and mental pressure from working at height, which may lead to accumulation of muscle fatigue and work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Objective To record the local muscle fatigue during a simulated climbing task by high-voltage cable electricians based on surface electromyography (sEMG) signals, explore the characteristic changes in sEMG signals and their relationship with subjective fatigue evaluation of the task, and provide data support for developing task specific objective assessment tools for local muscle fatigue and prevention of work-related musculoskeletal disorders. Methods Ten male college students were recruited to conduct a test of a simulated pylon climbing task. The climbing distance was 60 m, and a task segment was set for every 20 m (about 100 s), recorded as T1, T2, and T3, respectively. After completing each task segment, the subjects were required to rate their subjective fatigue using the Borg's RPE Scale. Fatigue was defined by rating of perceived exertion (RPE) score ≥ 14 in this study. The sEMG signals of trapezius, erector spinae, rectus femoris, and gastrocnemius muscles were recorded wirelessly. The standardized maximal voluntary electrical activation (MVE) obtained by standardizing the root mean square (RMS) of the time domain index and the median frequency (MF) of the frequency domain index were estimated for the recorded sEMG signals, and joint amplitude and spectrum analysis (JASA) was used to evaluate local muscle fatigue of target muscles involving in the climbing task. Results The RPE scores of T1, T2, and T3 were 11.9, 15.3, and 17.4, respectively. Subjective fatigue was found in T2 and T3 but not in T1. With the extension of climbing time, the MVE values of left and right erector spinae muscles, left and right rectus femoris, and right gastrocnemius muscle increased gradually, while the MVE values of left and right trapezius muscles and left gastrocnemius muscle increased first and then decreased. The MF values of left and right rectus femoris increased at first, then remained unchanged, while the MF values of the other muscles remained basically unchanged. In T1, three muscles, including left trapezius muscle and both side of erector spinae muscles, showed fatigue; in T2, five muscles, including both sides of erector spina muscles, right trapezius muscle, and both sides of gastrocnemius muscle appeared fatigue; in T3 , except for left rectus femoris, the other seven muscles were fatigue. Conclusion The characteristic changes of electromyography signals in the simulated climbing task are not completely consistent with the typical amplitude increase and left shift of the frequency spectrum of sEMG signals in static tasks, indicating that the application of time-domain and frequency-domain analysis methods in the evaluation of muscle fatigue in climbing tasks needs further discussion. Trapezius muscles and erector spinae muscles are the first to show fatigue in the simulation, and may be the sensitive muscle groups of muscle fatigue associated with climbing movement. Compared with subjective evaluation, surface electromyography is more sensitive in the assessment of body fatigue. Fatigue is reported about 100 s of climbing (the climbing length is about 20 m).

ABSTRACT

Background Long working hours is harmful to the physical and mental health of occupational groups, and should receive active attention. Objective To evaluate the current status of long working hours among operation and maintenance workers of power supply enterprises, and explore its effects on work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) of the population. Methods From March to June 2021, a cross-sectional survey was conducted among 1433 operation and maintenance workers from 10 power supply enterprises in Jilin Province, Shandong Province, and Tianjin Municipality using cluster sampling. A total of 1433 copies of revised Mus-culoskeletal Disorders Questionnaire were distributed, 1343 questionnaires were recovered, and the recovery rate was 93.72%. The questionnaire included general information, personal health behaviors, weekly working hours, work-related factors, and musculoskeletal pain or discomfort in nine body parts in the past 12 months. χ2 test and multiple logistic regression models were used to investigate the relationships between long working hours (>40 h per week) and WMSDs. Results The average age of the workers was (39.42±9.89) years, and the average work experience was 11.00 (5.00, 21.00) years. There were 1158 males (86.22%) and 185 females (13.78%). The average weekly working hours of the workers were (47.98±11.35) h, and the proportion of long working hours (>40 h per week) was 61.06% (820/1343). The proportions of long working hours were higher among the workers with characteristics of male, power distribution, shift work, often/very often long-time standing, often/very often holding awkward postures, often handling heavy objects, limited space to operate, long-time neck tilting backward, keeping arms above shoulders, frequent elbow bending, repeating knee movement every minute, and repeating lower limb or foot movement every minute (all P<0.05). The prevalence rate of WMSDs was 81.53% (1095/1343) among the workers. The results of multiple logistic regression showed that after adjusting education, smoking, exercise, awkward postures, often handling heavy objects, limited space to operate, long-time heavy trunk bending, long-time neck tilting backward, and keeping arms above shoulders, compared with working ≤40 h per week, the risk of WMSDs among workers working >49 h per week was higher (OR=1.406, 95%CI: 1.011-1.955). Conclusion Long working hours is prominent among operation and maintenance workers of power supply enterprises, and increases the risk of reporting WMSDs.

ABSTRACT

Background Power grid is a basic industry of national economy. The occupational health problems among operation and maintenance workers in this industry have become increasingly prominent in recent years, and they should receive enough attention. Objective To estimate the prevalence of work-related musculoskeletal disorders (WMSDs) of neck and shoulder among operation and maintenance workers of power supply enterprises, and analyze related influencing factors. Methods From March to June 2021, a total of 1433 operation and maintenance worker from 10 power supply enterprises in three provinces of North China were selected as research subjects using cluster sampling method. A revised Musculoskeletal Disorders Questionnaire was used to investigate the prevalence and ergonomic factors of neck and shoulder pain in the past year. χ2 test and logistic regression model were used to explore influencing factors of neck and shoulder pain among operation and maintenance workers. Results A total of 1343 valid questionnaires were recovered and the effective recovery rate was 93.72%. The neck pain prevalence was 66.0% (886 cases) and the shoulder pain prevalence was 54.1% (727 cases). The multiple logistic regression analysis results showed that often/very often long-time sitting (OR=1.864, 95%CI: 1.236-2.811; OR=1.659, 95%CI: 1.091-2.524), sometimes holding awkward postures (OR=1.695, 95%CI: 1.294-2.219; OR=1.596, 95%CI: 1.218-2.092), often/very often holding awkward postures (OR=2.416, 95%CI: 1.618-3.607; OR=2.058, 95%CI: 1.405-3.015), long-time slight neck tilting forward (OR=1.327, 95%CI: 1.023-1.722; OR=1.571, 95%CI: 1.221-2.022), long-time elbows bending (OR=1.327, 95%CI: 1.023-1.722; OR=1.506, 95%CI: 1.112-2.040) and department or team staff shortages (OR=1.578, 95%CI: 1.153-2.161; OR=1.831, 95%CI: 1.320-2.539) were associated with higher neck and shoulder pain prevalence rates. While exercise (OR=0.630, 95%CI: 0.492-0.809; OR=0.707, 95%CI: 0.557-0.899) was associated with lower neck and shoulder pain prevalence rates. Doing same work every day (OR=1.704, 95%CI: 1.305-2.225) was associated with a higher neck pain prevalence rate. Awkward postures with ineffectual force (OR=1.808, 95%CI: 1.226-2.665) and often keeping arms above shoulders (OR=1.424, 95%CI: 1.017-1.992) were associated with a higher shoulder pain prevalence rate. Conclusion The prevalence rates of neck and shoulder pian are high among operation and maintenance workers of power supply enterprises in selected three provinces of North China, and the main associated factors include individual factors, awkward work postures, and labor organization.

Their structures were elucidated as ethyl 4-O-β-D-allopyranosyl-vanillate (1), n-butyl 4-O-β-D-allopyranosyl-vanillate (2), n-butyl 4-O-(6′-O-syringoyl)-β-D-allopyranosyl-vanillate (3), n-butyl 4-O-(6′-O-vanilloyl)-β-D-allopyranosyl-vanillate (4), n-butyl 4-O-(6′-O-syringoyl)-β-D-glucopyranosyl-vanillate (5), n-butyl 4-O-α-L-rhamnopyranosyl-syringate (6), methyl 3-methoxy-4-(β-D-allopyranosyloxy) benzoate (7), pseudolaroside B (8), butyl syringate (9), glucosyringic acid (10), methyl syringate (11), methyl 4-hydroxy-3-methoxybenzoate (12), clemochinenoside C (13), and clemoarmanoside A (14), respectively, on the basis of spectroscopic data interpretation and by comparison with literature information. Compounds 1-6 are artificial products of phenolic acid esterified by ethanol or n-butanol. It is noted that the precursors (4-O-(6′-O-syringoyl)-β-D-allopyranosyl-vanillic acid and 4-O-(6′-O-vanilloyl)-β-D-allopyranosyl-vanillic acid) of compounds 3 and 4 are new compounds. The hepatoprotective, anti-inflammatory, antioxidant and cytotoxic activities of compounds 1-13 were evaluated in vitro at a concentration of 10 μmol·L-1. Compounds 1, 2 and 6-10 exhibited potential hepatic protection effects with cell survival rates ranging from 53.6% to 55.5% (acetaminophen, 45.4% at 8 mmol·L-1). Compound 4 demonstrated anti-inflammatory activity with nitric oxide inhibitory rate of 74.6%. Compounds 3 and 5 showed potential antioxidant activities with malondialdehyde inhibitory rates of 53.2% and 56.1%, respectively.
